Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah has worked as an actor, musician and playback vocalist in Tamil films as well as Malayalam film. Her acting debut was with the Tamil movie Pachaikili Muthucharam as well as her Malayalam debut with Annayum Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah was born in Anglo-Indian born in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Her father is an attorney in the Madras High Court. Her older sister is currently working and living in Leuven Belgium in the role of Research Assistant. Jeremiah grew up near Chennai, attended National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea began learning classical piano around the age of eight. She was a big geek who wanted to become a psychiatrist. Young Stars is a Jackson Five kind of group which was her first group in the age of 10 and was the beginning of her singing and music career. She was an actor at her university and participated in several productions in the form of The Madras Players, EVAM and other theatre groups. Andrea was also the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea began the acting profession as an infant actor as a child actor in Girish Karnad Nagamandala. In 2006, her role in the Leo Coffee commercial was with Shiva. She has also acted in a television show that aired on Podhigai. Her performances have been all over India. She was briefly featured in Kanda Mudhal's finale (2005). When she sang a tune in Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vettaiyaadu he asked her to play as one of the lead female characters in his next venture Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea performed the role of Kalyani the housewife whose husband is in the middle of an extramarital affair. Andrea was chosen to play the character after actresses Simran Tabu and Tabu were offered the role. This film released in early 2010. It was first released in Venkat's Mankatha in 2011 that starred several actors. In 2013, she began her career in Malayalam cinema with Rajeev Ravi's romance movie, Annayum Rasoolum.
